Popular Culture and Copyright

Like Marcin's seminal documentary "8bit", this documentary on mash-ups is also non-releasable for copyright violations. A hot topic in the early 2000s, the copyright debate is even more relevant today, and fundamental to media arts.

UFO Sightings in Jersey City

I was sleeping over one of my cousins house. She lives across the street from a bar. I heard lots of yelling coming from outside. I thought maybe there was a fight going on with the people from the bar. I looked out the window and saw a crowd standing in the street and looking up. I then looked up, saw a flying saucer, told my cousin, grabbed my camera, ran outside and took the best sleepover memory picture in history.

After church Friday night, I went to the water front to take pictures of the 9/11 memorial lights. There was a crowd as usual. I pushed through and saw a NEWS camera crew!!! Of course, my eyes were stuck on the camera equipment. I thought the News crew was there for the lights but then I heard the news anchorwoman start talking about possible UFO's in the sky. I looked up, freaked out, took a picture and ran away!

My dad is extremely nosy. He actually stopped the car and asked one of the officers what was going on. Apparently, a woman called the police saying there were lights next to her house that wouldn't go away. UFO? We had to move the car when S.W.A.T. came.

On my way to the nearest ATM, I saw strange lights...possibly imitating the lights from the building next to it. Think it was an amateur alien pilot trying to blend in?

This afternoon we received several calls of strange naked little men were walking around in the Jersey City area. Local police stations were informed and some of them tried to settle the situation. This young man seemed to make fast friends with his new little Martian buddy.
