Moon Landing

Russians on the moon? Water on the moon? Are aliens real? Due to recent investigations, the first manned mission to land on the moon were not the Americans but the Russians! It was believed that the Russians had only been able to send objects to the moon, but that has been declared false. The photos of an American astronaut turned out to be a complete hoax. This is the real photograph of the real Russian astronaut who landed on the moon years before the Americans could have. The photograph came from an anonymous but reliable source. In this photograph, you can clearly see a beautiful and blue stream that photo experts are still quite astonished by. Strange, odd looking figures can be seen in the background and an odd circular ship as well. Could they be...Aliens? The photograph has been circling the web and gone viral. We may want to ask ourselves has our history been a lie? And what other photographs have we not yet seen?

9.Che Guevara

On this day October 9th, 1967, Che Guevara's body is being examined at the United States Air Force facility commonly known as Area 51 is a highly classified remote detachment of Edwards Air Force Base, within the Nevada Test and training range. Che Guevara was an Argentine Marxist revolutionary, physician, author, guerrilla leader, diplomat, and military theorist. A major figure of the Cuban Revolution, his stylized visage has become a ubiquitous countercultural symbol of rebellion and global insignia in popular culture. On this day, with the help of military personal and two of the world's best physicians unravel the true identity of Che Guevara who is in fact an extraterrestrial from another planet. This was the first piece of evidence we found regarding life outside this world. From this day on, this photo was deemed classified to any outside civilians. We still have no evidence of why they are here or if they are still amongst us. This case still remains open with an ongoing investigation of what their motives could be or if they shall return.

Mussolini and Hitler- Maxine Antoine

I decided to change the background of the original picture to American army soldiers. In history, America, in the beginning of the Holocaust, did not help when Jewish refugees were trying to enter America for safety. Instead, America made them turn back around. If America had been there earlier and had helped out sooner, many of the lives that were lost during the Holocaust would have been saved.

Yalta

This is a picture of the Yalta conference meeting, which was held at the Yalta hall. The meeting was to help the people feel liberated from post nazi Europe. At the Yalta meeting, president Franklin D. Roosevelt, British Prime Minister Winston Churchill, and soviet premier Joseph Stalin are discussing these ideas to bring peace to the countries.

The Yalta conference meeting was and at and to help shape post-war and create peace, it was also a sense to give the people a feeling they were liberated. Also to help rebuild the establishment of the Nations that would torn apart because of World War II. Years after following the conference meeting the Cold War begin, and because of the meeting it became a huge discussion among many people if it worked.

The reason for the Cold War was because the Soviet Union did not follow some of the ideas and agreements that were made at the meeting. The people of the Soviet Union were not given a government. The people was still under power and we're not doing a voice. As well Roosevelt passed away just months after the meeting so due to the fact. The Soviet Union did not keep their promise of creating peace and following Roosevelt's death the administration crashed.

In my picture I put Hitler standing in the background because of World War 2. On Roosevelt I put the symbol of the American flag because he symbolize our country that wanted to create Unity with other countries. The flowers in the bush represent what could blossom into something beautiful if the countries were able to work together.

The Mexican War

The Mexican-American War started in 1846 and lasted until 1848. The primary cause of the war was the then independent Texas. Texas was once a part of Mexico, however Texans weren’t happy with the Mexican Presidents laws especially when it came to slavery, so they eventually became their own independent country in 1836. Texas wanted to be a part of the U.S. but the north wasn’t really into the idea of adding another slave state to the country.
However, the newly elected President James Polk had his eyes on not only Texas, but other territories that were controlled by Mexico at the time. Mexico had warned the U.S. not to try to take control of Texas but being the stubborn nation that we are, we ignored that warning. Polk instigated a little fight at the Rio Grande and the war began with United States emerging as the victors.
There have been so many different incarnations of this photo that ranged from them being in a forest to me actually giving the black and white photo color. However, the issue I was having was that they didn't look believable enough to me and I wasn't satisfied. I went back to the drawing board and decided what I could do is remove one of the guys and add in another one in his place. Since the background is relatively white in the original photo, removing one of the men wasn't that difficult, I added in an outlaw to the far left and now I think it looks more realistic.

Ernesto “Che” Guevara was an Argentine Marxist revolutionary, physician, author, guerrilla leader, diplomat, and military theorist. A major figure of the Cuban Revolution, his stylized visage has become a ubiquitous countercultural symbol of rebellion and global insignia in popular culture. On this day in 1967, socialist revolutionary and guerilla leader Che Guevara, age 39, is killed by the Bolivian army.  Bolivian forces captured Guevara on October 8 while battling his band of guerrillas in Bolivia and assassinated him the following day. His hands were cut off as proof of death and his body was buried in an unmarked grave. What I mean by the fingers and hands is greeting to the leader of the revolution and the combat of injustice in the world “Che” Guevara of all the races of the world at the last sight of farewell. “Che” Guevara will remain a symbol of revolutionaries all over the world to this day. The wisdom of the hands and fingers are hands and fingers of woman’s, children’s and the Young mans of the world toward this great man. Also, the reasoned I chose TV because this is the way people from the whole world said good-bye to “Che” for the last time and a message from peoples by integrating what “Che” Guevara started.

The Moon Landing

I decided to change the historical moon landing into a day when NASA discovered that the Hollow Moon Theory was a truth.

The Hollow Moon Theory, or Spaceship Moon Hypothesis, proposes that the moon is hollow completely, or that it contains a substantial interior space. The moon is hollow in this theory from a product of alien civilization. It corresponds with the belief in UFOs and ancient Astronauts.

The Ancient Astronauts is a concept based on the belief that intelligent extraterrestrial visited Earth and made contact with humans in antiquity and prehistoric times. This influenced the development of modern cultures, technologies, and religions, and that most deities, or "Gods", are extraterrestrial by origin, and that advanced technologies brought to Earth by Ancient Astronauts were interpreted as the evidence for having a divine status.

This hypothesis proposes that humans are the descendants of extraterrestrial intelligence who landed on Earth thousands of years ago. The belief is that all of the knowledge that we have as humans actually came to us in ancient times, from what we would call aliens.

In my telling of The Moon Landing, we see that the moon is indeed hollow, and we are looking at Armstrong observing the cracks in the moon rock beneath him. In the background of the photograph, we see a crashed UFO, and to the far left of the photo is an old alien skull. This is proof that there were at least once upon a time, if not still, aliens roaming around, and that the Hollow Moon Theory is a truth after all.

The Beatles and The Quarry Men- Phillip Whitney Final

My project was for the Beatles. I chose to show a what if scenario where John Lennon never met Paul McCartney and stuck with his high school band, The Quarrymen.
John Lennon, When he was a teenager, started a band with his classmates, Bill Smith, Ken Brown, and Eric Griffiths, and named it The Quarrymen, after their high school. After several years of recording amateur records and playing county fairs. The band never quite broke through into the mainstream, that is until the British Invasion occurred on American culture. They were able to find an audience in the blue collar Midwest where their popularity spread like wildfire with songs like 'Maggie May' and 'In Spite of All the Danger'. It is said their country twain is what led to their success in the U.S.. With their new fame, they managed to book a tour for non other than the U.S. Army, and had several shows for the troops in Vietnam. This was a promotional photo for their first official album: British Invasion.

Young Lords- Steve Gerena Final Project 5-8-17

Final Project

                                                                 Young Lords

In the middle of the African American liberation struggle, protests to end the Vietnam War, and the women’s movement for equality, Puerto Rican and Latino communities fought for economic, racial and social justice. These people became known as The Young Lords. They started in Chicago but then grew across  the nation. They were known to be in the barrios of New York City and other urban centers. They did a lot of things for the communities they lived in. They supported independence for Puerto Rico, and fought oppression against all Latino nations throughout the world. They crusaded for human rights and decency and raised a militant voice for the empowerment of Puerto Ricans and other Latinos in the United States.

This picture was taken in New York City around 1969 or 1970. It showcases Young Lords marching in protest. I decided to edit the picture using Photoshop. I first placed the Puerto Rican flag as a foreground image because The Young Lords were Puerto Rican, they were proud of their country and their flag. I added a burning hole in the flag and made it look like it was caused by a burning trashcan, because The Young lords group in New York were originally founded due to an event known as the “garbage offensive” in which The Young Lords decided to take piles of garbage and burn it; they blocked off 3rd Avenue traffic at 110th, 111th, and112th Street  and burn it and. They did this to protest because their inner city neighborhoods in New York were not being maintained. The City's Sanitation Dept. was not picking up garbage and huge piles had built up in their neighborhoods. Many minorities and members of The Young Lords had asked for help but received none.

The burning trash can represents the struggle of the The Young Lords and their fight for the civil rights and decent living conditions for members of their communities. The "burnt hole" is a "window" that shows the protesters and the people and members of The Young Lords who wanted to change things and make a difference.

Young Lords

This is a photo of the Yalta conference which had the purpose of shaping a post-war peace that represented not just a collective security order but planned to give self-determination to the liberated peoples of post Nazi-Europe.

Although, this conference did the opposite of what it was suppose to and it led into the Cold War because Churchill gave Stalin control of Eastern Europe. This made Western Europe feel like the Soviet Union was bent on expanding communism. In my image i handcuffed Churchill to Stalin to signify his control over half the country in future events.

The Soviet Union did not follow some of the agreements that were made at this conference. This is what pushed the Cold War to happen. Stalin did not make the post-war Polish government exactly the same as prewar and there weren't any signs of free elections. Stalin also did not follow the Dclaration of Liberated Europe which stated that the people would be able to determine the king of government they would have in their country. But the King of Romania said he felt pressured by the Soviet Union to have a communist government. To signify this in the photo I crossed Stalin's fingers showing us he isn't going to keep his word. He is also wearing a very old headset and maybe someone is communicating with Stalin for some unknown reason.

The final thing I added to the picture was a hospital band on Roosevelt's wrist. Not too long after this conference Roosevelt passed away caused by a Intractable Hemorrhage during the presidency of Harry Truman and relations to the Soviet Union worsened.

My idea was to subtlety place links to future events in the past.

The Kiss

Picture Change Explanation

During this time, East Germany was controlled by the Soviet Union. East Germany considered themselves to be the German Democratic Republic and this kiss happened when Russian leader Brezhnev came to visit Honecker to celebrate East Germany's 40 year Democratic Republic anniversary. The kiss symbolized mutual respect for one another, but this kiss was a bit more “romantic”, and sickening to be quite frank. The usual way Europeans greet each other is to kiss cheek to cheek. Both of these men were celebrating the control they had over there people and the separation they created amongst those people.
There are a few minor changes made from the original photo in comparison to the update. There is a devil's head added to a spectator behind the two men kissing. This is because one source quoted, “It seems not a photo of two friends kissing but lucifer making a pact with himself". The tie was also removed from Brezhnev because communists do not represent the idea of “gentlemen”. Most communists are cowards with extreme insecurities. Lastly, Honecker’s eye glasses were removed from his head. This is because he seems to be totally blind to the fact that he is still under Russian control but still feels empowered. Eventually, all of this comes to an end, something both men didn’t see coming.

The Vietnam Beatles

The Vietnam Beatles

"Thank you, Mr. Lennon, for joining me today." The bespectacled woman spares the aged man a quick glance before staring down at the mess of files on her desk.

Lennon smiles, "It was no problem, love. There's something strange happening and it seems you are the only one who knows what on earth is going on." He takes a seat across from her, setting his cane across his knees.

"Seems so." she responds. She leans over a recording device and mic set up at the corner of her desk. As an after thought, she turns to him, "Do you mind if I record this conversation?"

He shakes his head and she continues setting up. Once done, she pulls a paper from a loose pile in front of her.

"So Mr. Lennon..."

"Call me John please."

She flickers her eyes up to him and gives a half smile, "Mr. John Lennon, can you describe your occupation?"

The man leans back in his seat, glancing back at his past. "I'm retired now. But I was a photographer for Life Magazine. Some of my more popular works are... were part of the Vietnam War."

The woman gives a small hum in understanding, scribbling in a tattered notebook. "Can you describe what has recently occurred to change that is to was?"

For a moment, he is quiet and his smile fades to a frown. "Well love, a lot of people think I'm dead."

"Do you know why?"

He shakes his head, "Not at all. Mostly, I see the looks of shock and confusion from people who once recognized me. I know I am up there in age, but... the act as though I died a long time ago. Do you know why Miss..."

"Clappsy. And this meeting today can possibly help me find that reason."

Lennon nods, awaiting her explanation.

"Did you ever meet men by the names George Harrison, Paul McCartney, and or Ringo Starr?

Her eyes meet his as she searches for a flicker of recognition. It is some minutes later that his eyes snap and he pulls a photo from his wallet.

"I have... once, during the Vietnam war. They were part of the Special Forces unit. I took a picture with them March of 1964, several days before they were deployed elsewhere and I returned home to New York. For months before that, I worked and talked with them, bonded with them amidst the rubble and war. I reported and recorded their lives in the trenches. You are talking about Sergeant Harrison, Lieutenant McCartney, and Captain Starr. They were great men; though I clearly remember how horribly they sang." He chuckles.

Carefully, as though grasping a relic, Clappsy takes the photograph from Lennon's outstretched hand. She leans forward, eyes wide.

"Sir. Have you ever heard of the Mandela effect?"

"Vaguely... why?"

She glances up at him, her eyes lost in a daze.

"The Mandela effect is when we collectively misremember certain events in history. The first noticeable event was the supposed death of Nelson Mandela in his prison cell in 1980. You and these three soldiers are now victims of the effect."

Lennon grips his cane as though it is his last life line.

"What do you mean?"

She sighs, placing the picture at the center of her desk, "I mean to say, many people remember who you are differently. They all believe you and these three men, were part of a band called the Beatles. Perhaps, in some alternate time line, you were and when you were, you were murdered in Central Park by a crazed fan."

"That can't be!!! I'm right here! Alive and well! I never saw these men after that last encounter. They died!!!"

Standing, she walks round the desk and places a hand on his shoulder. "I know sir. I just don't know why."

*****
Clappsy sits alone at her desk in a darkened room. Her eyes pour over the paper again and again. Looking for just one clue that will connect all the dots and explain the mass mis-recollection of Mr. John Lennon and his Special Forces friends. As she sits there, head falling into her hands, a song is drunkenly sung just outside her office window.

"Help me get my feet back on the ground
Won't you please, please help me?"

The Bomb At Iwo Jima

The Battle at Iwo Jima was a gruesome conflict between the United States soldiers and the Empire of Japan.  The U.S Soldiers were surrounded on top of Mount Suribachi and fought off Japanese soldiers.  Low on ammo and slowly losing morale, the U.S soldiers create a last ditch effort to raise the U.S flag on top of Mount Suribachi to regain troop morale.  The U.S Government knew if the Japanese retook Mount Suribachi, the war would have been longer to end.  So the U.S Government decided to use the atomic on Mount Suribachi.

In World War II, it is a little known fact that before General Hideki Tojo actually became the general of the Japanese Army, he fought for the Third Reich. He was Adolf Hitler’s right hand man, where ever you saw the Furher, Tojo was never too far behind. Some call him a brown noser because they became close when Hitler was ready to take over Japan. Tojo was ready to lead the Japanese front against the allied forces, and eventually, Hitler and Mussolini picked Hideki Tojo to lead the Japanese Front.
