Digital Media 1

The purpose of this class is to familiarize you with basic concepts of computer media and, in particular, the visual language of digital 2-D image via Adobe Photoshop. You will be exposed both to software and concepts behind the 2-D digital artwork. You will learn in depth how to work with photographic images, create bitmap graphics, develop your own ideas and communicate them through Photoshop. No previous experience with computer required. Second half of the class will introduce fundamentals of online and game media.

Please note that this is not a purely technical class teaching you the skills behind digital graphics. You are expected to be creative and learn to communicate concepts, develop your personal aesthetic and talk about assigned theoretical readings.

Materials:

External drive of your choice to store/backup images, glossy paper

Absence policy:

One absence allowed without further explanation. Second one equals to one grade drop unless accompanied by doctor’s explanation. Third equals to another grade drop unless accompanied by doctor’s explanation. Beyond that you fail the course.

Grading:

1 project: 15% 2 project: 30% 3 project: 15% final project: 30% class critiques/blog participation: 10%

Course Syllabus:

Week 1: Introduction, overview of the class. Syllabus and class blog. Basics of working with files, important vocabulary, scanning, and tools. Differences between platforms. Concepts of pixel size and resolution.

Project 1: Self-portrait. Week 2: Photoshop Marathon part 1:

basic operations in Photoshop, making selections, Compositing, layers, toolbox

Self-portrait Project: scan one or more of your personal photographs and manipulate them digitally into a self-portrait. Use images found online to create a collage. Try to make certain statement about your personality, place in the world and how would you define yourself to other people. Start with a small sketch if you prefer. Experiment with the features you have learned in the class.

Week 3: Photoshop Marathon part 2: further introduction of Photoshop menus, layers, filters. Complex selections, masks, channels, paths, transforming paths into selections. Working with Bezier    curves, pen tool. Discussing differences between raster and vector based images.

Week 4: Self-portrait project due - group critique.

Basics of print preparation. Color modes: RGB and CMYK. Calibrating a printer, selecting the right option for your piece. Color retouching, levels, curves, selective color operations. Advanced selections: color range. Introducing command shortcuts.

Project 2: Dream.

Week 5: Dream Project : write down a short description of one dream you had and which made a big impression on you, good or bad. Extract one scene from that dream and try to reconstruct it out of pieces of online images as adequately as possible. Pay attention to details; try to convey exactly the feeling you had in the dream. This is a classic compositing assignment. Custom photo material is also encouraged.

Week 6: Role of unconsciousness in creative process. Surrealist artwork introduced. Discussing student’s concepts and trying to find specific technical solutions. Perfecting Photoshop techniques, using rubber stamp tool, layer effects, adjusting layer opacity. Looking at light and shadow issues: building a coherent, realistic space.

Working on Dream Project. Reading Assignment:

Sigmund Freud: The Interpretation of Dreams (fragment)

Week 7: Dream project due - group critique. Discussion based on reading Simulacrum and Simulations. Issues of reality, copy, image ownership, documentation and falsification will be addressed. Demonstration of Actions Menu, recording and using actions.

Project 3: Creative Type

Week 8: Type tool, layer effects. Non-photographic applications of Photoshop. Building graphic elements from scratch, simulating 3-D effects, making interfaces, buttons, using gradient and bevel effects. Looking at examples of interesting communications and advertising artwork.

Creative Type Project: pick a word and try to illustrate the essential meaning of the word through inventive use of type. Play with the shape of letters, filling of the type, composition. Be creative: this is a highly conceptual project and sometimes less is more.

Week 9: Creative Type Project due – off campus group critique. Reading Assignment:

Research Blog: this assignment will be done in teams. Each team will be given a theme and will have to research the theme in a format of a blog. Participants will search the web for content, present

their private opinions, discuss, comment and try to discover as much as possible about the subject.

Week 10: Short history and fundamental concepts of the Internet

Basics of HTML script - workshop. Understanding the idea of hypertext and mark-up. Learning basic tags and attributes. Putting together a simple web page and viewing it in the browser. Saving and uploading HTML files. Preparing images for the web. Image maps in HTML.

Week 11: Using Photoshop as HTML editor. Slices and rollovers. Making a quick homepage. Embedding multimedia. Absolute and local connectivity

Week 12: Web 2.0, blogs, social media and their critique by contemporary web artists. Quick workshop in modifying and making animated GIFs.

Week 13: Short history and fundamental concepts of electronic gaming. Screening: documentary 8 BIT. Discussion related to the movie.

Week 14: Working period. Week 15: Final critique.

Super Shrooms Change Way of LIfe!

Over the past couple of months, the DEA has reported a large increase in the use of a specific psychedelic drug—shrooms! That’s right, mushrooms are not a drug of the past anymore; shrooms have become quite popular with today’s youth. However, the DEA has also reported that there is one significant difference between these new “Super Shrooms”, as they are being called, and the mushrooms of the past. “Super Shrooms” have some pretty bizarre side effects, and are highly addictive, unlike the mushrooms of the Woodstock days.  All over the country, youth are falling prey to its life altering effects. 

At first, most users experience no visible side effects. Yet, after continued use, most will complain of blurred vision and begin to see changes in their eye. The look is similar to that of cataracts, yet much more pervasive. Some users have undergone surgery only to learn that it was pointless. The problem soon returned. Soon after, users lose sight completely. After sight has gone, some tell stories of being haunted by ghosts and demons. Some scientists believe this to be a supernatural event. We spoke to scientist, Matthew Lukendas, who had some very interesting things to say. He said, “This is a very interesting complaint. It is my opinion that, at this point, the user is straddling life and death. In other words, the victim loses sight in this world to gain it in another”. Lukendas studies Kirlian photography and is seeking to discover new ways to see what users are seeing. 

After loss of sight, users complain of numbness starting in the extremities. It soon spreads throughout the entire body. Once complete, the user dies, usually in his or her sleep. Oddly enough, it seems that it doesn’t end there. Paranormal activity has peaked in households in which users have died. Family members have reported weird experiences in which they felt as though their loved ones may have been attempting to communicate with them. One family that we spoke to has even resorted to using an Ouija board to contact their son, Jimmy. 

Authorities are urging people everywhere to stay away from “Super Shrooms”. While many teens and young adults are intrigued by the idea of becoming a ghost, we do not know what is on the other side. “Super Shrooms” are not to be toyed with! Conversely, scientists like Lukendas are seeking families of those who have lost people to this odd drug. If interested, his office can be reached at (201) 284-8580. Subjects will be compensated.

Cthulhu

CTHULHU SPOTTED IN HUDSON BAY

                Around 2:30 pm on Tuesday afternoon, an unusual sight began to brew on the Newport waterfront of the Hudson Bay. There, swirling and thrashing about, a whirlpool began to form in the usually calm and relaxed waters of the Hudson Bay. Eventually from the maelstrom emerged what could only be described as a green humanoid giant over approximately 1200 feet tall. This creature had green, blubbery scales and was covered in innumerable tentacles, with clawed feet and hands. It had wings as well, with its head composed of what could only be described as a giant octopus.  The sight of such a monster truly struck fear into the heart of this reporter, as for some reason I felt the strange urge to ransack the closest store and pillage the Newport area.  The monster, now standing shin-deep in the whirlpool stood still, seemingly scanning the area as his massive figure blocked out a sizable portion of the Manhattan skyline.

It was as if the creature was communicating with me telepathically. As I took a look around, I   realized that other than the company of my photographer Jushin Sundaraiga, we were completely alone. That is except for one cloaked gentleman standing by the miniature lighthouse, who appeared to be chanting. Somehow he sensed our presence while keeping his entire face covered, “Ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn". Eventually after a long bout of silence he exclaimed “In his house at R'lyeh, dead Cthulhu waits dreaming." Apparently, this hulking creature is none other than Cthulhu. The gentleman never turned to face us; however he answered all of our questions concerning this “Cthulhu”. The cloaked gentleman asked that we refer to him simply as Oslo. The creature is apparently an “Elder God” or part of a race of primordial beings that have existed for untold ages before humanity was ever part of this Earth.

 R’lyeh is the underwater city in the South Pacific which is supposed to house Cthulhu, however somehow he managed to emerge out of the Hudson Bay. Oslo stated “When the stars have aligned Cthulhu shall arise from his slumber and bring about chaos and violence across this earth.” That would explain the feeling I had earlier to ransack the liquor store and challenge my cameraman to a bout of slap-boxing. In any case, it was apparent that Cthulhu was now released from his slumber to reign in chaos, until I locked eyes with the monster and he motioned me towards a bench. There I found a book titled “The Necronomicon”. I was compelled to flip through its pages and landed on one detailing the means to communicate with Cthulhu. Oslo proceeded to scream “I summoned him with the book!” before running off. Again I locked eyes with Cthulhu and he telepathically stated “Mortal Gio, I have awoken early and have only five minutes before I return to R’lyeh. Know this, my reign shall be absolute, with pizza and beer in abundance once your notions of society and safety crash and fade. Be my harbinger and tell your pathetic race of their imminent doom. Let this be the only warning you ever receive, as the stars have made it so.” Within that moment Cthulhu descended into the Maelstrom and I was left speechless. You heard it from this reporter first, the End is nigh, but at least there will be beer and pizza.

NJCU Renovation Revelation

New jersey City University President, Dr. Sue Henderson recently announced that in light of the future construction of the Westside campus, additional parking for students, faculty, and staff will be needed.  Originally, the thought never occurred to create additional parking because in the advent of construction on the Westside campus, an insufficient amount of parking spaces was the last thing on anyone’s mind.  Therefore, the latest proposal is to demolish the Grossnickle Hall building and erect a six-story parking garage in its place.  This new parking facility will in turn enable many commuter students, faculty, and staff to be able to park their vehicles on campus without worrying about whether they will even get a parking space.   

Even Though the Grossnickle building has been around since 1962 and has served its purpose, however, it does not attract new students nor does it represent New Jersey City Universities potential as a prestigious university.  Therefore, with the combined construction of the Westside campus and the new Kennedy parking garage, the University would truly stand out to high school students looking to further their education.  This in turn will definitely bring New Jersey City University much more revenue than the millions of dollars of debt the University will be in once these projects are completed.   

The details of the new parking garage rival that of any other college campus-parking garage in the Tristate area.  The New Jersey City University Kennedy Boulevard parking complex will be completely solar-powered with multi-colored glass facades to admit natural light and will include a café and a Zen Garden.  The café will be located on the ground floor adjacent to the campus side of the parking structure and will sell University paraphernalia, various foods, and different types of beverages.  On the east end of the structure by the main entrance of the New Jersey City University campus is where the spiraling Zen Garden will be.  It will consist of multiple levels of grass, plants, and peaceful artistic statues.  The entrance and exit to the parking lot will be located on the side of the building; however, the initial entrance and exit will be on Kennedy Boulevard just past the parking structure.  Also, to add to the parking garages modernistic finesse there will be palm trees along the front of the building to give the University a tropical feel.  Furthermore, the aforementioned Multi-colored glass lights will illuminate the campus and add to the Universities unique qualities.  The idea is to modernize the Universities campus and make it more appealing to the students.

The project is said to cost the University about $20 to $30 million dollars to build and maintain.  Therefore, the funding for this project will rely on both private sector money and University debt.  Furthermore, it is unclear whether New Jersey City University will complete this project do to the Westside campus project taking precedence over the six-story parking garage.  Thus, the two sample images provided show an idea of what the six-story parking garage will look like when the project is completed around the 2016-2017 school year. 

Life On The Pole

 Taylor Swift spotted swinging for a pole:

Is she adding some spice to her love life? Maybe she is relieving some stress? Desperate for cash? Actually, none of the above. Taylor Swift has been training for her new film, “Life On the Pole.” Sources close to the country-pop star says she is very dedicated to the role. She trains all day, seven days a week for the role. After an interview with the star she says she was very surprised because she has no rhythm what so ever, but surprisingly it came very naturally to her. Taylor Swift is definitely working hard, and playing hard.

Taylor Swift said, “Strangely, it all came very naturally to me. It’s like I was born for this kind of thing.” she also said she was very proud of herself because this was the hardest move to perfect Sources say she may retire from the movie business to pursue her new…hobby, professionally.

 Red Carpet:

Spotted at the premiere of her new movie, Taylor Swift was sporting her new man candy and costar on her arm, Jack Jackson who also plays her love interest in the film. Sources say, apparently these two have been hot and heavy since the film.  

Interview with a ghost

On December 7th, 2013, college student, Christopher Rice age 25, "dropped dead", as inspectors are calling it, while in an empty classroom studying for finals at Valin Cross Institute. He had many books around him and was found face first in one of them. He was rushed to a nearby hospital for examination and a autopsy and examiners are baffled. They are no signs of trauma or struggle or any significant cause of death. "It is as if he passed away due to old age, but he is only 25", one examiner said. "I have never seen a case like this in my entire 23 years of working in this field", stated another examiner.
   There are no marks on the body or signs of forced entry so officers have ruled out murder or suicide. Many speculate that it could have been due to stress and his body couldn't take anymore. Fellow students and people of the community believe that divine intervention may have played its hand. Regardless, this tragic event will be one that will remain a mystery.

Spring semester has started and most students have calmed down over the tragic event that transpired last semester. This photo to the right was taken by a student at random in the media building and capture this stunning sight. This photo was posted on most social media and went viral that very same day. Student are now very weary to enter the building do to the belief that it is now haunted and making it difficult for professors to conduct their classes. The administration and faculty are doing their best to ease the commotion but the students are still convinced it is haunted. Students are now starting to speculate that it could be the ghost of the student, Christopher Rice, that passed away last semester. Due to rise in belief that this "ghostly visitor" is the spirit of the student and the administration need a solution to solve this issue, they decided to send the word out to paranormal investigators to come and scope out the building and possibly remove the ghost and send it into the light.

As quickly as the word was sent out, Sci-Fi channel investigators, TAPS, answered almost immediately to be the group to investigate. Lead investigator and founder, Jason Hawes, was given the information about the student that passed away due to unknown causes and stated, "Being that his death was a mystery, maybe we can find some way to communicate with him and find out directly what was the cause of his death. Perhaps this will help him  pass on." TAPS and the institutes own media students decided to team up to see if they come into contact with the ghost and find some answers.
 Co-founder, Grant Wilson, states "Working with the Chris's fellow media students is a vital part of this investigation. Perhaps the company of the students he studied and completed projects with will lure him out into the TV studio". After the investigation, totaling about 3 days, Grant's insight paid off and were able to come in contact with him, even though it was very weak and hard to hear. What TAPS were able to decipher was one word from the ghost, "books……..books." Unsure of what the ghost meant, they deduced that it has something to do with books or material he was studying. Unfortunately, it still doesn't solve the mystery concerning his death, but the student are a little more comfortable going to class and going on with the semester.

Black Friday Plague

Lately, we have all come to know about Black Friday. It has been a growing trend in which consumers get to have a jump start to their holiday christmas shopping. Thousands of consumers pack together for door buster deals in major stores all across the country. While this day has been criticized for its erratic customers pushing and clawing for that bargain, no one could have imagined the disaster that came to pass.

This past Black Friday, the unimaginable took place within many stores packed with consumers, all around. No one saw it coming and investigations are still ongoing. Many citizens contracted what is now being called as Black Plague.

First accounts began slowly for early bird shoppers, the earliest stories coming in at around 7am in the morning. Scattered reports were being heard of incredibly overly aggressive shoppers being arrested. The infected were reported to have become animal-like; clawing, biting, and few even trying to eat other fellow customers. Early on in the day, people heard about these stories, comparing them to the bath salts incidents that turned few citizens into cannibals during the summer.


The aggressive shoppers of Black Friday morning were contained and while there were some companies who considered closing down due to the morning scare, Black Friday continued.

"I didn't know what to do, I knew Black Friday was a crazy day to come in to work. But... I just don't know. I just wanted to get paid. I...I'm just glad I got out," retells John Labow as he was one of the many employees dealing with the customers.

At around seven in the evening was when the reports of uncontrollable shoppers began once again. It started off with a few fights between customers here and there. Before anyone could understand what was happening, the fights between customers have gotten out of hand. Crowds of people contracted the disease. America was under a new pandemic.

Experts don't seem to understand what caused the outbreak and no news so far from Disease and Control. Rumors have spread about a bio terror attack, contaminated food, and even conspiracy blaming the American Government for not taking action after hearing about the early reports. The infected have all been detained after the following weekend. Tests have said to have been done and all there is to wait for the upcoming results. Now photos are coming to light from the mobile phones of surviving customers retelling their experience. America and its people are still recovering, but even now, the holiday spirit remains strong as many have come together to support one another in these uncertain times.

Hidden Dragon: Why Bruce Lee had to fake his own death

During the 70’s, a series of popular Kung Fu movies gave rise to a Chinese American super star known as Bruce Lee. He helped changed the way minorities were perceived in American cinema by becoming the first Asian American actor to star in a Hollywood film. Bruce also developed his own martial art style infused with his personal philosophies called Jeet Kun Do which is still practiced today. Watching what he did on and off screen made it obvious how both his mental and physical health were very important to him. Through rigorous training, he was able to introduce extraordinary displays of physical talents such as the two finger push up and the one inch punch. 

Traits like these can make one wonder, how can a man with such a phenomenal physique die at such an early age from cerebral edema? This doubt festered in the minds of many and lead to a number of alternative theories for his death.  These theories included assassination by the Triad, adverse reactions towards his electronic muscle stimulation sessions and last but not least, a delayed effect from a “touch of death” maneuver that he fell victim to a few weeks before his supposed death.

It was a shock to people around the world when Linda Lee, wife of Bruce Lee, released her tell all book last month called, Hidden Dragon: Why Bruce Lee had to fake his own death. In the book she describes how Bruce actually had to go into hiding with witness protection services after witnessing a murder involving several Hollywood executives and the mafia. “Not many people considered that he was actually alive,” says Linda. She further explains how they commissioned Madame Tussauds wax museum to make a replica Bruce Lee statue for his funeral.

They assigned him to work at several random Chinese restaurants throughout America and figured that it would be the last place anyone would find him. "Not many people know that Bruce actually liked cooking and was quite good at it. He practiced it as hard as he did martial arts and impressed the family every night with a new dish he would teach himself how to make." She also explains that it was the the only way for them to ever to see him again. "Sure, Bruce could take on several unarmed goons, but he can't stop bullets"

Linda decided to write her book after the occurrence of his actual death last year from prostate cancer and encourages all males to get checked before its too late. She's kindly provided several pictures of Bruce's hidden life to show that he was happy with what he had to do in order to continue to see his family. "Who knows? If you were lucky enough, you could've very well eaten something cooked by none other than Bruce Lee."

The Battle Of Presidency

Today is a momentous occasion Ladies and Gentleman! A brawl of epic proportions! Chris Christie FORMER governor of New Jersey has announced his candidacy for the 2016 Presidential Election . Though due to the presidential fitness act of 2015 a new method has been decided to decide who becomes the leader of this country! A demonstration of Martial Arts skills will determine who leads our people. Christie has since taken a more spiritual approach to his training.

After consulting several spiritual advisors he attained the ability to travel into the after-life where he met the great Pat Morita who had told him an ancient bear no bigger than the size of his hand  would teach him the ancient art of the gluttonous style. Succeeding in his training there was only one thing left..His opponent..

               Still on Earth Hillary Clinton awoke from a dream in which she saw Chris Christie training to become president. Her mind could not allow someone of his stature to become president. Clinton, former Secretary of State and New York Senator made a phone call to one of her dear friends, Master Pain. She traveled to Thailand, the training broke her body but not her spirit. Her final challenge arose when Master Pain announced her final test would be against him in a battle to the death. 

     The Fight would last seven days and seven nights, with Hillary noticing Master Pains physical fatigue she placed all of her energy behind one final knee. Connecting with the knee, Pain stood there awaiting release from this life. Hilary looked upon her teacher, showing mercy she turned her back on her master. Closing her eyes the sun caressed her face for the first time in days. She emerged from Thailand changed and ready.

Before either of them knew, the day had come. This fight would decide who becomes our leader, our commander and chief. Each took the floor, with heated eyes they looked at one another. The special guest referee Oprah Winfrey, who lost in the 2015 Democratic Convention Sparring Match to Clinton chose to be the unbiased referee. Motioning for Christie and Clinton to take their positions. Oprah then signaled for the fight to begin. Christie threw a titanic right hook only to be matched by Clintons vicious knee. Knocking them clean out, with the count of 10 done Oprah declared a No Contest because they both were terrible fighters and neither deserved to be president. 

Young man in Jersey City wakes up turned into a fly

NEW JERSEY - The morning of Wednesday July 16, 1925 was not an ordinary morning. Grover Sinsa 23-year-old who works for the "Transformations Experiments & Research" Laboratories awakened as a fly. According to the testimony of his family, the young man was found in this unusual state, in his room at the family residence located in Jersey city, New Jersey.

Bruce and Martha Sinsa, Grover’s parents, said that they were worried because his son had not woken up to go to work on Wednesday around 7:30 am. "We decided to call him, because he is not usually unpunctual to work." As they recount, they sent their daughter Whitney, Grover’s sister, to approach the room; she, knocking twice on the door, and receiving no answer, decided to enter. Moments later, and with a terrifying scream, she called her parents, given the surprise by what her eyes discovered, Grover had turned into a fly.

"We do not know what will happen next. The uncertainty will kill us! At first I did not understand anything. I panicked because I thought he was not there, that he had not spent the night at home. Then I realized that the huge fly buzzing stumbling on the bed, was not another thing but Grover himself” says Whitney, with her nerves still inherent in the voice and a slight tremor in his hands.

Dr. Frank Kinsey, Grover Sinsa boss and Director of the "Transformations Experiments & Research" Laboratories. Speaking for our newspaper said that he considers Sinsa  a working guy, but nevertheless had noticed him lazy and lost during the last days. "So, I invited him to lunch. Yesterday afternoon I took him to McDonald's and offered him a burger. Grover told me he had never tasted junk food and refused to eat it, but anyway, I convinced him to eat it. Then he went home. I hope he recovers" Dr. Kinsey says.

Dr. Kinsey also added that his hypothesis is that Sinsa must've swallowed some of his chemical experiments and this must've affected in some way for this transformation to happen. Kinsey will research to find out why Sinsa became a fly. Thus Kinsey will be the first scientist to discover the formula for animal-human mutation and even that humans could fly!

Currently Grover Sinsa is being subjected to extensive studies to determine the chemical composition that exactly made this transformation. Sometimes mistakes lead to important a scientific discovery, who knows; perhaps what created this transformation was the McDonalds burger that Grover tasted for the first time.

Death of Amelia Hurtson

Amelia Hurtson was a Sophomore at New Jersey City Univeristy. Amelia was majoring in Media Arts hoping to become a film editor. Amelia was last seen walking into Hepburn Hall to use the bathroom before class according to Josh Mitchell a fellow classmate of Amelia. When i had interviewed on the death of Amelia Hurtson this was the statement he had made. Josh had explained, "Amelia was a dear friend of mine. We sat next to one another every thursday at 3p.m. keeping each other grounded throughout the stressful semester. When i found out what had happened, i couldn't imagine who would want to hurt a person like Amelia. She was everything, smart funny and beautiful. Who ever did this must pay, and all we can do is wait." 

Amelia was not seen by any other classmates other than Josh who was already a suspect in the case. As the murder had spread throughout the campus of New Jersey City University. One student posted a Facebook status the same day of the murder stating, "I guess the rumors are true. Stay out of the short cut." There were rumors since the school was built in 1918 that the shortcut bathrooms were haunted by a girl named Rachel Finn. Rachel Finn was a former student of New Jersey City University that had died in the same bathroom as Amelia. The myth of the shortcut hallway was that Rachel Finn had died there years ago but the murder was never solved. The spirit of Rachel Finn was still not at peace. Most students, especially students who lived on campus believed 'the shortcut' hallway was haunted by Rachel Finn because her body was not at ease. Police officers did not believe in such things and decided to continue to search for evidence leading to the murder of Rachel Finn.

Megatron is in the NFL (Final)

For 8 years Calvin Johnson a wide receiver from the Detroit Lions has shown is amazing athleticism. His spectacular ability to jump over defenders and make plays has earned him the nickname Megatron. Johnson has a rare combination of size, speed, hands, strength, and body control. Last Sunday night he showed why he deserves the name "Megatron." In the first half of Sundays night game against the Miami Dolphins, Johnson racked up 315 yards and 3 touchdowns. 

Johnson was set to set and break yet another record, until a cheap tackle by cornerback Doug Spuma brought that to an abrupt end. After the tackle, Johnson stood up and the entire stadium came to an awkward silence. After all these years, the question, "How does he do it!?," has been answered. Calvin Johnson is a High-Tech Humanoid Cyborg. After the tackle by Spuma, a portion of Johnson's skin was torn off. Johnson didn't notice and stood up posing after making the catch, as shown in the image above.

Surprisingly everyone has been very supportive and accepting of it. The fans and players around the league are don't appear to be bothered by it. All they are worried about is how to stop him when facing him. The league has allowed him to continue his football career and will not take the records he has set and broke. Even Calvin is happy with the outcome of this and loves to share pictures of his newly revealed secret. Johnson says, "I've been wanting to share this secret with not only my teammates but with the world. And now that its out there I'm happy, and I feel like i can concentrate more on how I play, than worry about my skin tearing."

Conan O'Brien Enters the NFL Draft

        In a crazy turn of events late night talk show host enters the 2013 NFL Draft. Conan tells us that, " This wasn't a spur of the moment thing, i have been training since last year. It was show at the combine when he ran a surprisingly fast 4.45 40yrd dash. When asked what position he was going to play he said defensive end. Seen in the image he actually ran the whole combine in a suit to show he still is dedicated to his late night talk show. His performance was so well and unexpected the draft gurus were predicting him to go in the first round.

 
        As expected Conan was drafted number one overall to the Kansas city chiefs. Conan said about the experience," It was fun and cool to be able to show this old man still has it and to prove that you can do anything you set your mind to." When Conan's name was announced at the draft the whole are exploded with cheers as NFL fans as well as chief fans were happy to see his hard work actually pay off. Now the next thing Conan had to go through was all the media and getting ready for training camp. Conan should be use to all this media attention being in the spot light for most of his career, we just have to see how the chiefs will respond to this publicity.

     Heading into training camp a lot of the experts were wondering, and still are, if his body can keep up with this strenuous offseason program and the whole NFL 16 game season. So far Conan is showing that he is in enough shape to stick with what he started. In training camp he hasn't shown any signs of weakness. The preseason is coming up in two weeks so he will get his first real test against a team that isn't his own teammates. Only time will tell if this was a huge mistake for him to enter the NFL. So far so good for Conan and we all wish his the best of luck in the up coming season.

NEW JERSEY CITY UNIVERSITY HOUSE OF LEGENDS

On December 28th, 2013 at 3:00pm legendary musicians from all over the world will make history at Union Student Building. Well known singers, guitarist, drummers, pianist and music savants from all over the world will be part of a massive convention that will be honoring the most prominent moments in music trough history.

Lately many of the musicians have been seen walking around the campus, last thursday love birds Yoko Ono and John Lennon were photograph walking around the campus as well as Keith Richards guitarist from the Rolling Stones was seen playing the guitar in his unique style right by the entrance of the Union Student Building. Kurt Cobain was spotted by some students at the Union Student Building entrance, as well as Eric Clapton, Paul McCartney, Michael Jackson, Keith Richards, Freddie Mercury, 

Roger Waters and Jack White.

The convention is estimated to bring together at least two hundred musicians from around the globe. Everyone is anxiously expecting the masters that changed music history. In between the names of the participants that will honor with their presence our school are the legendary Robert Plant and Jimmy Page as well as John Bonham and John Paul Jones from Led Zeppelin, Kurt Cobain from Nirvana and his wife Courtney Love, Eric Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Ray Charles, Johnny Cash, from the Rolling Stones Keith Richards and Mick Jagger, Paul McCartney, Ringo Star, George Harrison, Chuck Berry, Bob Dylan and many more are expected to appear in what will be the greatest musical even of all times.

The ceremony will be open by the none other than Jimi Hendrix. Many performances from the different bands and singers are expected as the event will last up to four hours. AC/DC and Pink Floyd already confirm their participation as part of the spectacle entertainment. The committee that organizes the whole event are deciding who will be the host for this magical afternoon, people speculating say that the one who will be hosting it will be John Lennon other say that Steve Jones from the Sex Pistol will be the host.  

All students are invited and the price of the ticket is $175 to spend a memorable time in a sea of music geniuses. Food and open bar included.
