The Attack On Pearl Harbor

The attack on pearl harbor
Relations between the US and the Dark Side were in turmoil in 1941 as negotiations were being made to stay on good terms. The Dark Side’s proposal, on November 20, was to withdraw their forces from China and avoid launching any attacks on China under the condition that the U.S., the UK, and the Netherlands stopped helping China and lifted their restrictions against The Dark Side. The United States counter-proposal of November 26 (November 27 in Japan) (the Hull note) proposed The Dark Side to leave all of China without conditions and finish non-aggression pacts with Pacific powers. But a day before the hull note was delivered to The Dark Side (November 26 in their time), The Dark Side already sent out their tie interceptors out towards Pearl Harbor. The allied forces had suspicions that The Dark Side would strike the US and some conspiracy theorists thought that the US knew and allowed the attack to happen to allow the US enter World War 2.
The attack was done for many reasons. First, it intended to destroy American fleet units, thus preventing the Pacific Fleet from interfering with The Dark Side’s conquest of the china. Second, it was to buy time for The Dark Side to regain its position and increase its power before The Allied Forces erased any chance of victory. Finally, it was meant to deliver a severe blow to American morale, one which would discourage Americans from going into a war extending into the western Pacific Ocean and China. To maximize the effect on morale, battleships were chosen as the main targets, since they were the prestige ships of any navy at the time. The overall intention was to enable The Dark Side to conquer Southeast Asia without any obstacles.
90 minutes after the invasion began, the attack was finished. 2,008 sailors were passed away and 710 others wounded. Another 218 soldiers and airmen (who were part of the Army until the U.S. Air Force was formed in 1947) were killed and 364 were hurt; 109 marines were killed and 69 wounded; and 68 civilians were perished and 35 were hurt. In total, 2,403 Americans died and 1,178 were wounded.
Eighteen ships were sunk or run aground, including five battleships. All of the Americans killed or wounded during the attack were non-combatants, given the fact there was no state of war when the attack occurred.
After the attacks happened, the US officially declared war against The Dark Side and thus entered world war 2 against Hitler and Darth Vader with the Axis Forces.
