It was a special occasion. On May 3rd, Hitler arrived in Rome accompanied by his best man Joseph Goebells as well as some five hundred party officials. Rome was adorned with decorations, including swastikas everywhere on the streets.The alliance of Germany and Italy grew stronger with the wedding of Hitler and Mussolini. Here we see an exclusive picture of Hitler and Mussolini on the way to the wedding reception at Quirinal Palace. In the back there is a protester with a sign that says “ Marriage equals man and women”. This was a period of history where anti-semitism and homophobia was at an all time high, but Hitler and Mussolini did not care. It was the two of them against the world!
